Expect fear, doubt, worry, and other illegal suggestions to invade your mind whenever you exert faith. So don’t be shocked when they show up to challenge your beliefs. These discouraging entities will bombard their way into your life, and stay until you are stripped of your hopes and dreams. They are attracted to faith like ants are attracted to sugar.
If you bump your head, expect a lump!
How to get rid of them:
- When fears raid your mind, write them down and release them to God in prayer. Because when you can write them down, it means you have identified them as fears. And since you know God has not given you the spirit of fear, you know they are lies from the devil. Therefore, why believe them?
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
- The Word of God is your sword against the enemy’s lies. Find Scriptures that will expose and contradict the lies. Personalize the Scriptures by using your name where appropriate so you can clearly hear God speaking directly to you.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Ephesians 6:16-17)
- Before fears have time to take root and colonize in your head, call on the blood of Jesus. Because the longer you entertain those illegal suggestions, the harder it will be to overcome them. You are not obligated to contemplate thoughts that are contrary to the Word of God. Use your time wisely by throwing these intruders out of your mind!
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (1 Peter 5:6-9)
We can’t act like we’re surprised when these guests show up—we knew they were coming.
Therefore, since we know they’re on their way—we have to be prepared to cut their stay short!
