No one knows the day and hour of Christ’s return, but I think if we were back in Noah’s day, the animals would be boarding the ark right about now. Look around; you know situations and circumstances of this world are intensifying to dangerous levels. Yet, through it all, God’s love, mercy, and grace are showing us what we need to do to prepare for our LORD’s return. But, even if He doesn’t come back for thousands of years from now, we won’t be around, so for us, the animals are boarding—now.
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man (Matthew 24:37, NIV).
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: (2 Timothy 3:1, NKJV).
One of my pastime pleasures is watching the news because I view the happenings from a spiritual perspective. I parallel current events with God’s Word. (See Matthew 24.) Looking at the world from those lenses gives me the enjoyment of witnessing God’s extraordinary moves as they unfold. Because as traumatic as things are, El Shaddai, God Almighty, is showing the world Who He is, and that’s glorious to watch.
I’ve heard some Christians say they don’t watch the news; it’s too depressing. I don’t think believers have the luxury of keeping their eyes and ears closed during this crucial time. If God’s people don’t know what the world is being fed, how can they point them in the direction of Truth? Although, believers must be able to distinguish truth from fiction themselves. I’ll just leave that right there.
We live in a time we have to show the world the Word of God through our actions—if not now, when?
Because the animals are already boarding.
