You can dress it up, deodorize it, or hide it under a bushel, nevertheless, nothing will keep hate from leaking out when it’s inside of a person. Although there’s one “fair” thing you can say about hate, it respects the non-discrimination act; it crosses all racial/ethnic lines and all socioeconomic boundaries. It will use any willing soul to spread its venom.
However, no matter how loyal you were, after hate is done using you, it will cast you aside, destroy your reputation, strip you of all common decency, and rob you of the good life that has been prepared for you. (John 10:10)
The aftereffect of hate is a monstrous.
When I speak of hate, I’m not talking about acts of sin, which God hates. (Proverbs 6:16-19) I’m talking about the hate that we can have towards our fellowman just because. . .
The most destructive form of hate is when people are in denial that it exist within them. They are deceived into thinking that they have rational-reasoning for their animosity. Hate has no mercy. It doesn’t love anybody. It leaves its victims oblivious to their foolish irrational-logic. But on the other hand, there are those who could care less about their despicable stance towards their fellowman. That’s a whole different story.
But, I want to focus on the people who are unaware that this stink-bomb is oozing out of them. Don’t get too close—mess stinks! How can they tell when their emotions have crossed over into hate?
Jesus is Light—hate is dark!
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12 NIV)
If you know you’re packed with hatred, the best thing to do is be honest with God about your feelings. He already knows what’s in your heart, but confession is good for you. Tell Him that you need His help to overcome this evil-vile spirit. As a matter of fact, since hate is so deceptive, it’s a good idea to ask God to search your heart regularly even when you don’t suspect any ill emotions. (Psalm 139)
A close loving relationship with your heavenly Father will give you the faith to accept His daily cleansing of any wrongdoings. The more time you spend in His presence, the more you are willing to bow to the Holy Spirit’s corrections.

Hate is contiguous. Therefore, if anyone throws you a hate-ball, don’t catch it! Instead, block it—with the shield of faith. And remember, hate don’t love nobody!
