If we can see it in the natural, then what do we need faith for? Faith is not required when we have a fully functioning backup system. Faith is not required when life’s challenges are just ripples in our comfort zones. Faith is not required when we know where we’re going. Yeah, right!
Staying focused avoids missteps!
Don’t fool yourself; faith is always required. Faith is especially required when you are cornered and frantically need to hear the Holy Spirit’s soft whisper of wisdom. As He gives you information on a need-to-know-basis, you are expected, by faith, to blindly follow His instructions step-by-step.
For we walk by faith, not by sight: ( 2 Corinthians 5:7)
Life requires faith!
Why do you think God gave us faith in the first place? To put it simply, He knew we would need it. Faith isn’t just a word sprinkled throughout the Bible to give those old accounts flair; on the contrary, faith is a powerful shield that will quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (Ephesians 6:16) I know life isn’t always easy, but we make it much harder when we don’t use the tools (faith, prayer, obedience, spiritual armor, etc.) God has given us. Read the Scriptures below and think about the authority we have through Jesus Christ when we pray in His will.
And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him. (1John 5:14-15 AMP)
Do you see why the devil wants to keep us thinking faith is not required? He wants us to think faith is only for “certain” people—spiritual giants; the rest of us don’t need it. He doesn’t want us to discover that faith is the weapon that will stop him in his tracks. The enemy knows once we are in harmony with Heaven, a formidable team is formed.
Our faith attached to God’s power—Oh My Goodness!
But, if we don’t have insight on the power given to us, and if we don’t understand our responsibility to trust and obey God, then we’re going to believe the lie—No faith required!
