It’s All Small Stuff

It’s All Small Stuff

April 1, 2018 Dr. Paulette Boston

There is no problem that’s too big, too difficult, or too messy for God to handle; it’s all small stuff as far as He’s concerned. Therefore, it will serve us well to put our faith in the Problem Solver and see our mountains from His perspective. We can magnify the mountains or we can magnify the One Who the mountains must summit to.

Nothing and no one is greater than God!

In the book of Joshua 10:1-14, Joshua commended the sun to stay still and the moon to stop until God’s people avenged themselves from their enemies.

The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! (NIV)

Small stuff for God!

In the book of John 11:1-44, Jesus raised Lazarus from the grave after he had been dead for four days.

Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”  41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. (NIV)

Small stuff for God!

A friend told me she only gives her big problems to God. As if to say, why bother the Master with things she can handle on her own? Well to her misrepresentation of the Word, God said to bring all (major and minor) stuff to Him. And by the way, this person can’t handle the small stuff without God’s help.

However, not to be too hard on my friend, many of us are guilty at times of going too long worrying; trying to figure things out on our own. Why waste time? The sooner we give it over to God, the sooner the Holy Spirit can give us His peace and guide us through.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1Peter 5:7)

Whatever mountain you might face today—give it to the One Who sees it as small stuff.
