After a spell of: arrogance, haughtiness, and superciliousness—a big fat humiliation pill is the best cure. No one wants to be humiliated, however, cause and effect principles are unescapable: What goes around comes around; for every action there’s a reaction; you reap what you sow.
Life has a way of humbling the most disdained souls.
If we are dishing it out, a good rule of thumb is to pull it back before God humbles us. Humiliation comes custom-made, and God knows exactly the right combination of circumstances that will cut us off at the knees. That’s why it’s a waste of time, and could be quite dangerous, to vindicate ourselves. Have faith that God will do what’s best.
Save yourself the humiliation—let it go. Life is the best teacher.
Folks who think they are above reproach, are not outside of God’s reach. When I see people swindle, deceive, and belittle others, I know their day is coming if they don’t heed the warnings and change.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:7, 8)
Don’t choke! Argh, argh, argh!
I think many of us will agree we’re living in times when it’s all about “self.” As a result, I see a lot of people getting in position to receive the repercussions of their ungodly acts. Nevertheless, I have to make sure I don’t become so self-righteous, so sanctimonious, and think there’s not a big fat pill with my name on it. I have to try and stay humble so I won’t develop a holier-than-thou attitude while I watch others gasping for air. The humiliation pill is nondiscriminatory.
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:5)
Remember: Everything that we do or say, good or bad, impacts our future.
We have to make sure swallowing humiliation pills—not on the agenda.
