God’s Countermove

God’s Countermove

July 31, 2023 pboston5

After Satan’s blockbuster move at Calvary, he took a victory lap. BUT THEN God made a countermove; He turned what the devil meant for evil into humanity’s greatest opportunity—to be freed from the clutches of sin and death. What was once the enemy’s so-called triumph has contributed to his ruin and damnation. However, that’s not the end of the story; that one countermove of God affects every aspect of our daily lives.

I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death (Revelation 1:18 NKJV).

Don’t believe Satan’s lie that he has the last word over anything concerning the lives of believers; because the God in them is greater than he who is in the world (see 1 John 4:4). The adversary walks about like a roaring lion (see 1 Peter 5:8); the enemy can only get to God’s children as he’s allowed (see Job 1:9-12).

Fact check!

The Holy Spirit already provided us with the countermove for every lie the devil wants us to believe. However, it’s our job to fact-check the enemy, search the scriptures and walk by faith.

For instance:

Lie: God doesn’t love you.

Countermove: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16 NKJV).

Lie: You’ve sinned too many times for God to forgive you.

Countermove: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 KJV).

Lie: You have no power over me.

Countermove: Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19 NKJV).

Lie: You’ll never amount to anything.

Countermove: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV).

You get the idea.
