When we pray for God to bless our wonderful-bright ideas and don’t see any results, it might not be because of a lack of faith; it could be what we’re praying for is dead. Hmmm!
Dead Things Don’t Grow!
There are times when God will resurrect the dead. He did it when Jesus raised Jarius daughter, (Luke 8:54-55) and when He raised Lazarus (John 11:43-44). Miracles like these glory God as they rouse our faith and give us hope. God is the same today as He was yesterday. (Hebrews 13:8)
However in Joshua 1:2, God told Joshua, “Moses my servant is dead.” God had no intentions of resurrecting Moses. Moses’ death meant that it was time for Joshua to move on. We have to be able to tell the difference between a delayed answer from a dead issue.
It’s a waste to hold onto timeworn ideas. These antiquated thoughts keeps us from focusing on what we really should be doing.
Is your faith up-to-date with God’s will?
Signs of death:
• No inspiration,
• No steps forward, and
• A gut feeling that it’ll never happen.
When we experience any of these signs or others like them, we should pray for God
to tell us like He told Joshua: Move On!
